I love Joey Hill's books. This is not her best. It's more of a short story that starts in the middle & doesn't really develop the characters or the plot. I'd skip this one, especially for the price of a full novel (!) and just read one of her others, ANY of her others. There is no real conflict nor any character development so I found myself bored & uncaring through most of this story.**Spoiler Alert: **
The story is about a former maybe/wannabe knight of the Round Table who attempts to rescue a woman whom he knows to be his because he has dreamed of her. She is cursed by a magician. He succeeds to rescue her without any real effort (other than to have sex with her & get her to acknowledge he is her master after a single encounter/sexual experience).

While not my favorite genre, this was a delightful and original story. Lilith was erotically enslaved by a wizard for what he presumed was an unforgivable act that resulted in his young brother's death. He disregarded his brother's choice in the matter. Thomas was on a quest to save Lilith from the spell that held her prisoner. This novella of erotic fiction is a story about judgment, redemption and forgiveness. Whose sin was worse? Lilith's or Zorac's? This is truly a story about the power of pure love and devotion. It will warm your heart.
This is a short story, but full of amazing characters and super hot sex. A wonderful weekend escape.....download this book NOW!!!!

As a teenager Lilith told a boy to fight and die in battle to prove he loved her. The young man did. His older brother was the magician Zorac who kidnapped Lilith and kept her in pain for 5 years as revenge for his brother's death. The form of pain was being sexually aroused at all times but never being able to satisfy it. The knight Thomas comes along and uses sexual activities and magic to free her.

Thomas was one of the few men who found the woman of his dreams the lovely Lilith had caressed him for years while he slept. Then one day he decided fantasy wasn't enough; he needed the real thing. So he set out on a quest to find the other half of his soul.
The antagonistic conflict in this story really sold me. I love that Zorac is cruel towards Lilith, yet seems to have such a big heart when it comes to others' innocence. You realize that he is not your typical malicious villain who is only interested in what will benefit him. While the dual kind and harsh sides of Zorac purposefully leave the reader feeling confused, it also makes you question who is really the villain.
The blurb for this story mentions Thomas leading his life in accordance to King Arthur. This is mentioned in bits and pieces of the story and really adds extra excitement to the plot. I have always enjoyed a little non-fiction within my fiction stories so this really attracted me. I would have likee to see a little more about his following of King Arthur directly, but it definitely added to the storyline.
This story has a strong BDSM element that revolves around sex but does not include a lot of actual intercourse. The nature of Lilith's curse does not allow her certain pleasures so Thomas comes up with innovative ways to break the curse that do not allow intercourse immediately. While this foreplay at first is exciting after a while I just wished some penetration would take place, but for someone who loves foreplay and tension this would be an excellent story.
I do feel the need to mention that this story has a very strong forced seduction element. Lilith is used by others for the sexual pleasures on a regular basis, which is discussed and demonstrated within this story. So if you find it difficult to handle woman being forcefully taken this may not be the story for you.
This was definitely an well-written, interesting story that any lover of historical romance should appreciate.
